What qualification should one have to be hired as a product manager or product designer in IT companies?

Being an undergrad student in Computer science, I wish to know the track I should pursue to be able to be successful in this career option as I feel it suits me the best. Please write about if higher education is beneficial and in what field, Ex: MS in HCI or MBA in IT etc. Edit: I added product manager and product designer both because I read perspective of multiple people on Quora that both have minor resemblace and take positions in each other's place.
