How does the military help you career wise when you get out of service?

I want to join the military because I dont have the parents to back me up finicial aid wise..I just want to make the right choice of joing the army towards doing a long term thing ...show more

You can use the skills you have learned in the military and apply them to civilian life, but other than veterans preference of a few points for federal jobs they do not help you get a job. You do that all your self. If you retire then you get a pension for life and medical etc. You also get the GI bill so long as you serve enough and get the right discharge from the military,.
