What job can a computer science PhD get which makes him travel around the world?
-
Say a CS PhD has put in his years and now wants to leverage his PhD to get a job that takes him around the world, getting him to see many countries and cultures. The job does not necessarily have to fully utilize his expertise. She is just happy to see countries of all economic status and help out in whatever way possible with her skills, while getting a decent salary. What are organizations or opportunities which offer such jobs? United Nations?
-
Answer:
Get involved in International standards (ISO, ITU, IEEE, etc.). Every quarter they tend to meet for at least one week in a different part of the world. Before that, they also tend to travel to a city in the US to discuss how the US plans to vote.
