How do I stop Airtel from marketing me their services interrupting my Internet sessions?
-
This has been an ongoing problem with my Airtel connection over an year now. Highly frustrating, costing me my time, causing interruptions to my workflow. On the pretext of complying with TRAI regulation Airtel has been interrupting my Internet sessions with such an Ad starting at 80% of my bandwidth usage. TRAI regulations do not tell any company to advertise their products or services to customers but only asks them to be proactive in letting customers know when they are about to cross their free allowance on broadband limits. But Airtel not just inserts this Advert but does this repeatedly starting at 80% broadband limit and even after crossing 100%. I am on an "unlimited broadband plan", the speed only decresing after I use up 100% of my fair use quota. Technically there's no need to show the message. I am also subscribed to their alerts on mobile. I have made several complaints in the past year to Airtel_Presence (An unruly, un empathetic, unproductive work for the sake of it organization causing more harm to the brand than helping it). And to their call center and nodal. No resolution has been provided. All I asked for was an option for me to checkbox saying I understood, and not disturb me again. As well as not show me Ads for smartbytes or any other Airtel product. I rely on un-interrupted broadband connection for most of my work. I hope everyone here will be empathetic to how it feels to be disturbed when you are in flow working online. I want to put a full stop to it technically on my side and take Airtel to court for such obtrusive Ads thrust on my face while I pay for their service. For the former advise me if you clearly know how to bypass this notification technically. If you suggest changing DNS, please provide a way that works. It doesn't seem to work for me. I use a wireless router -> DSL modem -> Internet. Let me know how to configure to bypass this notification.
