How can we solve this conflict, we love the odd and in the same time we respect discipline?
-
We often begrudge those who rebel against the templates and rules and at the same time we love discipline...How so?
-
Answer:
Discipline and rule following are not mutually exclusive. In other words, I can be very disciplined about breaking rules. However: Rule followers tend to dislike rule breakers, because timid people don't like to see others potentially getting ahead of them by taking shortcuts that are "against the rules." That's the mindset of sheep, however. The only people who get anywhere do so by breaking a few rules. Finally, in the end, people end up loving rule breakers more than the rule followers when the rule breakers attain a certain level of success. Think of a person like Steve Jobs for example.
