Is it hard to become a dentist?

  • Answer:

For most universities in the UK like Sheffield and Birmingham Dental Schools you need probably AAB at A level in Science subjects and then at GCSE you need mostly A*'s and A's. You also should have experience before you apply to university in working in a dentists during the summer to show you have considered what the job entails. Starting salaries in the training after the dental degree (which lasts 5 years) should be £18,000-25,000 and then you are for to pratice in a dental practice of your own or in one owned by someone else. After about 5 years experience you should be on £50,000-£70,000. But if it is your own practice you could be earning £100,000 plus as you build up your cliental.
