How can I get into car racing?

    I know an old racer who still karts at 65. Without many thousands of pounds it is a matter of finding a cheap form of racing, or joining a car club and sprinting your daily transport. Motorcycle racing can be much cheaper, there used to be a club class for old MZ250's which could be bought for around £100. Forget F1 etc. and hang around the club scene a bit. It is very receptive to new blood and you should learn a lot. Club events can be found online or in the one make sites. Stick to it and you may end up working in the pits as I did which will be very informative.
