How to create Facebook contest on mobile?

What are tips to conduct a Facebook contest that encourages fans to tell great things about their mother?

  • For Mother's day I'd like to ask fans on my business' facebook page to post something great about their mother for a chance to win a special gift from my company. Can you recommend things that I should and should not do when conducting the contest? How should I organize the entries? For example, Should I create a post then ask my fans to post their entries by replying my post? Or should I let my fans to post their entries on my facebook page? Should I pick the winner randomly? Should I let other fans to pick the winners? Should I comment/like/share every entry? Any other tips? Thanks.

    The first thing you need to NOT do is run a contest on Facebook without a third party app. According to Facebook regulations - that's not allowed. First thing you'll want to do is to figure out your prize.  If you're giving away a simple $10 gift card, you won't get much attention.  The prize should be very unique -- something that is valued very highly or exclusive. Success is also contingent on the size of your page.  You'll probably only get a small portion of your page engaging with you on the contest. Start by communicating to your audience that the contest is coming up, and explain to them in detail how it'll work. Next ask them to do something unique.  "Post a picture of you and your mother, and why mother's day is special to you."
