What are indicators of ineffective policy?

What are the best publications/indicators for real estate and economy news?

  • It seems every day we are inundated with real estate and economic news, but it can be very confusing to try to bring meaning and big picture outlook.  For example, I believe case-shiller statistics actually show statistics from three months ago.  I do believe there are various indicators like consumer confidence, unemployment that are either forward looking or a picture of the past.  What are the best indicators to track if you want to see where real estate prices and/or the economy is going?  Are there any websites that don't sensationalize every news story and graph all the indicators and provide simple definitions of the usefulness of that indicator and a general idea of where things are heading?

  • Answer:

If you are willing to pay money for this kind of information, then I would recommend a Chandan Economics subscription. I wouldn't expect this information to be free online anyway since it's a lot of hard work to compile and analyze it.
