How exactly does SAG work?

Sag in a rope using a catenary curve calculator. How do i work out the feet/s2 (Foot per second squared) applied perpendicular to my rope?

  • From my understand it is a force (gravity) pushing down on the rope. How do i work this out? I'm probably being silly but i just don't understand?

  • Answer:

If your calculator is expecting the acceleration of gravity then it is about 32 ft per second on earth. (Different on different planets )
