Why is technology becoming more affordable?

How do you keep from becoming overwhelmed by technology?

  • I work around technology, social media, video, and television all day long. I am constantly inundated with information, and looking for simple practices that will allow to reconnect with reality. For example. I am currently writing this at work, where I am tasking from my workstation computer, compositing video on my personal laptop, watching baseball on TV (in the background), and having a personal text conversation with a friend with an immediate need. I love information, I love reading, I love the reach and versatility of social media and cloud computing, I love learning about new technology, editing video, and being connecting; but sometimes my brain overloads and begin to feel as if I should revolt and destroy all these objects. Your thoughts.

  • Answer:

Stand up, go out of our house, do not look back and travel the world with whatever you have on you and in your pockets at that moment!

Prioritize! Prioritize! Prioritize! It's great that you love the pursuit of knowledge gathering and like to expose yourself to as many different source of information and entertainment as possible  but there needs to be a balance. Try to keep time aside for physical and social activities. and when I say social activities, I don't mean Facebook or What's app rather face-to-face conversations. I'm not saying you're not doing that right now. But maybe you require to increase the amount of time spent on such activities. and make sure to switch off the notifications on your phone during these periods. What this will result in is you enjoying the techy stuff even more when you're at it ! you will not easily get overwhelmed because you are balancing your life with other tasks that require a different set of skills and actions. Taking breaks from multi-tasking is also a must because you invariably overload yourself every time you indulge in more than one task at a time. and make sure to do the more important activities without any distractions. This might feel boring at first but you will soon find that your productivity increases by leaps and bounds. Hope this helps! Maverick

If you can realize, no one is holding you. You can obviously make a decision not to use some technologies. I have done this myself. I stopped using FB and did not joined twitter. I stopped reading news-feeds that does not make any sense (10 things you should know, 5 compelling reasons.. blah blah... all that shit)   My advise is that avoid anything that dumps information on you (socialnetworking like FB, Twitter, News Feeds). Instead use technology to gain knowledge on what you need (read blogs, DIY artices/videos, etc). I usually use internet to help me achieve something. For instance, I would like to eat some dish, then I will check in youtube about the reciepie. Hope you got the idea.   So take the first step, List what do you need in your life, in this month, in this week, today.. then use the technology.
