• I am currently on the verge of buying a new laptop for everyday use.I have my eye on 1-2 Dell laptops which are available on flipkart but not on the official Dell website. I went to nehru place to inquire about the same where I came to know that flipkart is selling only old and refurbished Dell laptops that is why they are not on the official site.   I'll start with the last part of your question. Intel HD Graphics are not a "graphics card" per se. They're on board graphics, which come included with the processor. You can't change them without changing the processor. Now 4000, 3000, 2000, these series are directly depending on the processor generation. The 2nd generation i3/i5/i7 processors had Intel HD 3000 graphics. The 3rd generation i3/i5/i7 processors had Intel HD 4000 graphics. Flipkart therefore, can not "install a custom card". If the laptop has the previous generation processor, it has the HD 3000. If the processor is 3rd gen, it's HD 4000. The 4th generation Haswell processors have Intel HD 5000. The Dell spokesperson was clearly mistaken and must have been talking about some other laptop with a different configuration. You see, Dell offers a wide variety of configurations on their laptops. So it is very much possible that when you contacted the Dell spokesperson, you told them you want to inquire about Dell Vostro 2420 laptop. The spokesperson just took the basic config and answered your query. In fact, I just checked out the tech specs of the Dell Vostro 2420 laptop on Dell's official website. It has a 3rd generation processor. HD 4000 graphics. Now for the old and refurbished part of your question. Again, highly doubted that it's done. There can be three reasons for not finding a laptop on the Dell website but seeing them on the Flipkart website. Usually, Flipkart keeps stock of products with them, to minimize delivery time by not approaching Dell every time they need a laptop. So it is possible that you find some just-closed series of laptops on the flipkart website, unavailable on the Dell website. When Dell does not offer some laptops in India, but Flipkart finds them interesting, it can get the international version of the laptop. I have seen some comments on some people's reviews of their laptop, that it's the international version. Perhaps you weren't able to find the laptop on the Dell website?
