How can I return a product online?

Can I return a product which I bought on Amazon even if its not defective in exchange for another product?

  • I ordered a set of speakers from http://amazon.com and I really hate it. Can I send it back or return it and can I buy another product in exchange for that product? I wanna exchange the speakers for a pair of ear phones. Is that possible?

    Amazon has a pretty broad return policy - it certainly wouldn't hurt to contact their Customer Support folks and ask if you can return the item.  They'll just credit back the credit card you used to buy the item, or possibly issue you an Amazon gift card for the value, though - you can't do a straight-across exchange.

Amazon prides itself on customer satisfaction.  They will probably let you do this.  They lose a little money, but they make you happy and more likely to buy from them in the future.  They have less risk than a brick and mortar store because they can see your whole return history.  They can see if it looks like an abusive pattern.

I once get store credit from Amazon.  I ordered an item which I already had.  I got in touch with them and asked if I could return it and get something of equal price.   Answer was yes.
