Vet or exotic vet? An experienced exotic vet who is knowledgeable about chinchillas would be less likely to make a mistake and treat a chinchilla like a common rodent. If you didn't take him to an experienced exotic vet, then it would be no surprise this is the treatment you receive. They consider chinchillas to be common rodents like rats or guinea pigs, and have very little to know knowledge about them. No offence, but you're not exactly qualified to say what killed him for sure. When chinchillas are ill, they are extremely delicate. ANYTHING could have killed him, as sad as this may be. You may not like it, but the other answer was correct in saying that no lawyer would take this case on. Lawyer fees are extremely high, and you wouldn't win the case anyhow. If you don't like it, remember that the vet is a business, and you are welcome to give poor ratings like any other business, and tell others about your expereince. One thing for sure is that threatening to do illegal things reflects poorly on you, not the vet.
