What are the key elements in a facebook page?

Can I keep data from a Facebook page in sync with a page on my website?

  • I own a directory site on which I list my (typically small businesses - bars, restaurants, etc). I'm thinking of creating basic facebook pages for each of them, adding them as a co-admin, then handing off so they can manage their own content (photos, walls, etc). I already have basic profile pages on my site for each of these clients, but I was thinking it would be super-efficient if the data on those existing profiles mirrored whatever the client uploaded into their facebook page. The only data elements I'm referring to at this point are the profile picture, the company description, and (perhaps) the location. I know that if this is even possible, it would require the hiring of a facebook developer with an undertstanding of facebook's APIs, and Wordpress (the CMS I'm currently using). I'm willing to hire, but just thought I'd ask for some guidance on this first to determine if it's possible. Thanks.

  • Answer:

This is a completely cheap and free idea, so please interpret it appropriately.. ...but if you're using WordPress, you could just simply turn on RSS and have the RSS feed straight into your Facebook Page.  That could be a start to see whether or not you want to invest time and money into creating that type of synchronization.
