What Different between Quality Assurance & Quality Control?

What is the difference between a Quality Control, Quality Assurance and a Quality Analyst person?

  • Their designations almost point out to the same responsibilities. Would like to know whether they belong to different fields of work, or what is it that differentiates the three.

  • Answer:

Imagine a production company where thousands of components are manufactured every hour. A quality control guy has to ensure no defective components move to its next assembly point as good components. He has to ensure and raise alerts about the bad quality being produced at the moment. So basically a QC guy is the real time controller of quality. Quality Assurance guy has to ensure right procedures, processes, guidelines, audit mechanism, training, methodologies, related to quality of the product. Quality Analyst is the guy analysing the QA and QC mechanism of an organization.
