In what way does pursuing an MBA help a person who aspires to be an entrepreneur?

  • Many people who write GMAT for pursuing an MBA, say that their ambition in life is to be a successful entrepreneur. So, apart from building some awesome contacts, in what way does an MBA help an aspiring entrepreneur? PS: Most of the successful companies are run by people with no MBA degree.

    I see this trend too and I think because it is easier. To start your own serious business, you need guts and going for an MBA is just playing with more safety in mind. And hoping to have some awsome networking along the way. But in the end you still have to do things on your own ... Yes maybe you have a bigger network but you might lack important experience that you missed while doing your MBA.

Whether the business be yours or someone else's, you need to have certain set of skills so that you can manage the things out & help in the growth & development of the business. Some successful companies are run by people without MBA. Its true. The reason is simple that some people are good at certain things. They don't need any training or any certification to enhance skills. So, if you want to be an entrepreneur & you feel that you don't have the necessary skills, you can go for MBA.
