Why do I feel TN is isolated from the rest of India? Or am I being preposterous?

Indian government agrees that English is needed for communication with the world, and every school in India teaches English after the fifth grade. Then the Indian government says that all of us should know Hindi also in order to communicate amongst ourselves within India. I ask, "Since every school in India teaches English, why can't it be our link language? Why do Tamils have to study English for communication with the world and Hindi for communications within India? Do we need a big door for the big dog and a small door for the small dog? I say, let the small dog use the big door too And, please visit parts of north madras to know more. Most of them speak Hindi. Hindi movies run in many theatres, Most of the workers you find in restaurants, theatres, securities in offices are Hindi speaking community. Yes, we are not like bangalore or Mumbai, that's because very few Hindi software people work here, and I feel that's because most of the northies aren't comfortable with this climate.... I can ask the same question to you changing Hindi as Tamil or whatever.. Because I'm sorry your question is worded like that. That's how a true tamilian feels

Lolz.. Just because you have such a ridiculous, closed outlook about TN, it does not mean it is true.. I have seen absolutely unbearable Bollywood movies from Salman and Akshay become super hits.. I have seen Bollywood movie-goers jump out of their seats like Sidhu does in that show when some hero comes wearing female dresses in the most disgusting way... But I never derive any conclusion that Hindi speaking guys are brainless from such things.. Btw.. Maharashtra opened its what?? Remember the regular attacks against Biharis and UP guys... And Gujarat is not ruled by Gujaratis you say.. You should get your facts right about contribution to national growth. You seem to have invented some unique way to measure it.

Tamilandu is isolated becos TN is the most developed state in the country. Look at the number of Bharat Ratna, Nobel Prize and even Oscar award winners and you can see that the people from this state have clearly outclassed others and thats why I guess you perceive it to be so.

I'm not a Tamil or no ways related to TN.But development wise I've lil to speak you will find a higher parity between industrialisation and social development in TN than much boasted Gujarat even. And give a glance on Raghuram Rajan.Report if you have some.time to spare... You'll find TN ranking third after Kerala and Goa. Infact unlike many states TN 's Industrialisation is not confined to Chennai alone rather it's decentralised. It's social levels of reforms is two decades ahead of most so called non-isolated Hindi heartland that voted BJP to Power. I have seen a big change to the state in last ten years while passing through it.

Friends, I have not heard any big complaint from most of north Indians who have lived in Chennai for long period of time. In fact, there are north indians who are living in Chennai for generations. I have never heard they felt hated. The people who never visit this part of India or people who have lived for short period of time seem to be complaining. I don't know why there are people who are spreading wrong information that people in T.N. hate North Indians. May be they don't like Integrity of this great country.I believe North Indians might understand if some North Indians who reside in Chennai make them understand. Friends, can anyone clarify the author whether T.N. has developed on par with other states in India

For your information, tamilnadu is the state from which most of the finance ministers are from. And i hope u know the importance of finance minister in indian politics and development

Bcoz majority of us know only Tamil language. And the bad thing is we show good hospitality to others. When an other state guy lands in Chennai and says "dont know Tamil" we try to converse with him in English (though it is not of Oxford's standard). And this thing hardly happens in Mumbai or any other major cities outside TN.

Please read good newspaper and watch good news channel. - Tamil nadu people elect regional parties based on their performance. Corruption is nation wide and no party is corruption free. If you would like to vote for corruption free party, you will never vote in your life time. Big scam or small scam, doesn't matter. Maharastra assembly - minister was attacked for taking oath in hindi and other state workers were attacked, Gujarat - big riot took place, Tamil nadu - other state workers are included in the state's workers union for their protection and rights. Tamil nadu didn't contribute to our nation? or your media didn't inform you? People speak of progress without neglecting the drawbacks. See how many protests are going on in TN. If a national party have some interest on us, we shall not deny to vote. - Nonsense hate of hindi? hate bollywood? Neither we hate hindi nor we love it. We learn if we need it. Does loving bollywood solves our problem or feed the poor? if so, I will love it. English has become essential for the good or bad and it is inevitable. I may ask you the same question, why did you learn english since it is foreign language? Where did you get the news that regional parties are trying to make tamil as national language? Source please. -Tamilnadu stands in the first two rank in foreign as well as domestic travelers among the indian states, this might not have happened, if we are not welcoming.
