How do Brits and Americans learn English?

  • Students from other countries start learning English  with "A  B C D ... " and reciting words. But I don't think this is a good way to learn English by reciting words. I really wanna know that how do  British and American  learn English just like you wanna know how do Chinese learn Chinese...

    For most of the population of those countries, it is their native language, and they learned it by simply being raised in an English-speaking home/environment.

They learn to speak it by listening to and mimicking their parents, other adults, and older siblings, if they have any. They learn to read and write under the direction of a teacher, usually, who (should) teaches them the phonetic sounds of the letters. Exceptions are learned by memorization. Many foreigners don't realize that the federal system in the USA means that the 50 states (and DC) can organize and control some things without the federal government getting involved so that there may not be standardization throughout the country. It even carries through to the various smaller political jurisdictions like counties, also. I don't know about the UK.
