What's a trainee assistant manager?

Which job has more salary to offer: joining Tata Consultancy Services as an assistant systems engineer-trainee or West Bengal Power Development as an assistant IT manager?

  I assume you are from Electrical branch.  So here are two paths TCS : Lets hope that you are fortunate to go for a good project, steady growth based on your skills, salary increase is also good compare to WBPDCL. Onsite after 3-4 years. Ample opportunities outside TCS once you come from Onsite. So basically you will be fledged IT professional . The only thing in IT is you have to know when to come out of a project or company . Work stress yes its everywhere bit more in IT but manageable. WBPDCL: Core company , lots of scope for learning and improving once skill in your interested area. Scope for higher studies(either foreign MS or GATE) after  2 - 3 years if interested to gain more in-depth knowledge. More importantly I think you will like the work as it will be an extension of what you know. TCS is IT company where as time goes your technical knowledge on Electronics is washed off. Decide yourself on what you want, both have advantages and disadvantages as in every case. Just weigh them properly and choose it.
