Is it possible to ship luggage?

Can I ship to one location and store my luggage there and pick them up 3 months later using FedEx or UPS?

  • I want to move to a new place, but I did not immediately go there (need to travel abroad for a couple of months.) I want to ship all my clothes and one big luggage to that location (inside the US) and hold it there for three months before I arrive in my new home and pick it up. I want to check how much it would cost for this (assume my luggage is 50 lbs)?

    I would suggest getting a PO Box on line at your new home. As long as your rent is paid they have to hold any mail that comes to you. You can sign up for a new service at most Post Offices called ,"move to competitive" .  It lets you use the Post Offices physical address along with your box number to receive shipments from companies that will not mail to a PO Box. You can actually ship through Fed Ex or UPS and they will deliver it to the Post Office. It is a great service, you never have to worry that your packages are left on the porch or out in the rain while you are at work or even on vacation.

You can go to the website and get a price for shipping and when I was driving for Ground I know we handled  anything under 100lbs  and most everything over 100lbs went to Fed-Ex Freight but I wasn't privy to shipping charges because as an employee I could ship anything for 3 dollars per package, I will tell you to be sure and do a good job and carefully wrap your things and secure them, I didn't ever see anyone trying to get in things but theres always theft, Usually electronics like phones etc...Marking fragile on the package will not matter because although they don't try to break things they are pretty busy and working on cutoff times so they are throwing and stacking packages as fast as possible, Its by far much less intrusive though! I mean as far as like a TSA agent digging in it!
