  • Answer:

Sonic wall, from what I can tell from reading about it, replaces a businesses router with a sonicwall firewall router. This router rifles through your pings and doesn't let them get past the router if they're to unapproved sites. There may be few ways around this. Look at the top of your browser where it says the URL. If it says "http" at the beginning, change it to "https". That sometimes works to get around site blocking. If that works, there's a chrome extension called " https everywhere" that will do it automatically for you. This only works if your school's tech team is lazy (or maybe they just understand that blocking people from Facebook is kinda dumb but have to do their job anyway... either one). The second thing I would try is a VPN website. What this does is it allows you to view an internet browser inside an internet browser (I know, some inception nonsense is afoot). This makes it so that all your pings go directly to the VPN and bypass the router. Try http://hide.me/en/proxy or http://hidemyass.com and if it works, great! If it doesn't (your school might actually have a capable tech team who blocked those site as well) try something else. Vpns don't just have to be used from a website. That's just the simplest method. Another thing you can try is downloading a VPN manager. Try a chrome extension called Tunnel Bear. It works well and has great animations of bears in tunnels as you're setting it up (a HUGE plus). Please let me know if any of these worked. If not, comment and I'll get into the more advanced stuff in an edit. Edit: tunnel bear has a data limit for the free version. However, if it works, configure the VPN manually. google how to do that since it's different for each browser.
