What should I do to prepare for college?

What are the best ways for a community college student to prepare for the future?

  • I'm going to be attending community college soon in Massachusetts. I want to work my way up to a good school, to major in eitherĀ  CS, ECE, something along those lines. I'll have to knock out some basic classes at the junior college first, I'd like to know how to improve my own knowledge, skills, to be prepared for whatever major I choose. Should I examine and study other courses' curriculum? What are the best schools I should aim to transfer to? Does it matter what classes I take at community college?

  • Answer:

A lot of the BIG school's material is already online. You try your hand at them and use them as a guide to determine what other areas you need to work on. If your program requires a lot of coding then I suggest you sharpen your skills with practice as well. Code. However, why not just apply to the schools and programs you want to? I presume you are referring to an undergraduate degree. Lastly, if you are near enough to some of the schools you like then I suggest you find a way to "sit in" some of the classes.
