What is economic rationality?

Should rationality be left unguided?

  • Should morality guide our rationality? Or should rationality be independent of morality? However, if morality shall guide our rationality, which morality must we use? I assume that morality is subjective.

  • Answer:

Rationality is it's own guide. As far as any overlap with morality, I would think that it does to an extent. Many moral issues are resolved using reason. But there are some moral dilemmas that fall outside of reason and under each individual's subjective personal values.

Morality is the daughter of rationality. Where did you think morals came from? Of course I don't mean just your personal rationality, but our common sense. Now, about rationality left unguided, no it shouldn't. Rationality must conform to the evidence of reality. So just base on reality and be as rational as you can.
