Is commercial blogging worth doing for an aspiring writer?

Is there demand for prolific writers here? Well, I am a freelance writer who has written extensively on a number of topics. I am available for SEO articles, website content, ghost writing and blogging.

    I've visited a number of freelance sites for the same thing. Unfortunately, the pay is a misery usually - ranging from anywhere as low as $0.50 to $2.50 per 500 words. I have been paid 20 times that, so my advice is to pick what field you're best at and look for websites which specialize in that area and apply there. Whatever you do, keep on writing out of passion - for free or just for yourself. Build a portfolio, keep your own blog, look for opportunities and snatch the good ones. As time goes by, maybe your reputation will precede you. I'm relatively young and inexperienced, so I can only hang onto that hope. Hopefully it's the right one, but there isn't a lot I can do apart from hoping.
