Questions about germany?

What are the great unasked questions about Germany?

  • This is response to the question, It's very clear what the over-asked dead horses are. What are the things about Germany that German Quorans wish the rest of us would ask more about?

  • Answer:

(Edit: Some of these have been asked in the meantime). : Does the elite-label in German universities matter at all? : Who are the most important artists in Germany? Who are the most important contemporary artists in Germany? What are the main themes of German art? Why hasn't German art been exported as much as German music? : What were the decisive factors in the Wirtschaftswunder besides American help and money? How did it play out? : (CC: What effect did the decentralized historical nature of Germany have on its  cuisine (especially compared to its neighbours France and Italy)? : How did German law come about? How does the Common Law in Germany and France (etc.) compare to the Anglo-Saxon Case Law? Which is better? : How could a woman make it to the top in Germany, before most other large Western countries? What is the history of each of those many different parties in the German parliament? Why does Germany waste money on city states? : ( has now posted this.) Why is Germany not good in Basketball/Ice-hockey/whatever? : What's the difference between the public and the private TV channels in Germany? (post-WW2): How was life in Germany after the war? How did it feel when the wall was built? (pre-WW1): Did Bismarck really invent social security? How does Bismarck, with his imperial adventures, compare to Hitler? (This was a question in my oral history A-levels, though based on some text I can't remember) Is there any continuity between the and modern Germany? : Is it true that Germans are travel world champions? Don't they like their own country? This is what I can quickly write down without thinking, might edit later. Feel free to ask any if you are interested (Edit: Some already have been asked as you can see). I really can't guarantee any answers though. ;) But we have a number of knowledgeable writers on most topics. By the way, I'd consider all of these "unasked on Quora". German does not have the biggest non-English Wikipedia with almost than 1.5 million articles for no reason (though this of course includes not only our Swiss and Austrian neighbours). A lot of the above has been touched in many, many discussions and comments all over the Germany topic. Rarely succinctly, and never easy to find though. This is but a fraction, there are hundreds of thousands of  possibilities, just like there are for questions about the US. Contrary to the Anon of the other question, I'd say that people are not interested or don't have enough knowledge to pose them, not that the questions and answers aren't interesting themselves. That shows in all those really highly upvoted answers that often grace the Germany topic, many of which have been complete surprise hits and the comments are typically "Oh, I didn't know that".
