How do I change picture on Yahoo! Mail?

  • I just sent an email to my own gmail account. Right beside my email, there's a picture of me. It is a different picture to the picture on my yahoo profile. How do I change the picture which always appear evertime I sent an email? (not the picture on yahoo profile )

  • Answer:

If you signed up for any Google service using your Yahoo email (for example, Google Plus or Picasa), Google will have a Google account profile for your Yahoo email address.  If that Google account profile has a photo associated with it, that photo is public and Google will show that profile picture to anyone using GMail who receives an email from that Yahoo email address. Go to http://accounts.google.com and  try to sign in using your Yahoo email address.  Reset the password if you have to.  Once you reach the Google account profile associated with that Yahoo email address, you can change your public photo.  Tip:  Search for your name or email in Google images.  If you see the photo, click through it to see where it is coming from. Other possibilities: If you have a contact in your GMail Contacts which includes that Yahoo email address and a photo, you will be shown the photo related to that contact.  This might happen if you sync your contacts from an Android phone, for example.  If the photo is private, only you will see that photo. If you have that Yahoo email address in a GMail Contact along with other email addresses that are affiliated with Google (like a Google Apps for Work account), the Google photo associated with the relevant Google profile of that other email address will be associated with the Yahoo email address in the contact, and therefore shown to you in GMail.

If you are not referring to your profile picture but the Personalized Sign-in Seal then refer to this sign. https://protect.login.yahoo.com/

Isn't that a feature on gmail rather than Yahoo mail? You can hover your mouse over the email address or the picture itself and click "Contact Info" and then simply select the picture there.

Go to http://yahoo.com and sign in. Click the "Hi (your name)" link next to your current picture. Once in your profile, click "edit profile details" (That would be the top line on the left under the words "Profile Information.") Now currently, you can go to Yahoo Profile, but that is going away in a few weeks.  Though you will still be able to change things like your picture and things, Yahoo Profile will go away, the last vestige of Y!'s try at social networking ala facebook.  But we digress. Click your picture (It should say change picture at the bottom of your pic when you hover over it). Once you click you can follow the instructions to upload a new picture. Hope it helps.

From Yahoo Help Updates to Yahoo ProfileYahoo Profile (http://profile.yahoo.com) no longer exists. But don't worry - your comments on various Yahoo properties didn't disappear! Most relevant settings are now in your account settings. We simply removed the ability to view public profiles and the “about me” and “my interests” sections. Why? Yahoo Profile was created to let you view public info about others. With Yahoo, you could check out profile pictures, nicknames, and comment histories as well as manage your own publicly visible settings. It never quite took off. Very few people look at other people's public profiles, so we switched our focus to the things that matter to you most. What does this mean for you? You can still post comments on the various Yahoo properties and your Yahoo nickname and profile pic still exist. Right now, you aren't able to edit your profile picture, nickname, gender, or date of birth from within your account settings. We greatly appreciate your patience while we work to update this and create new ways to personalize your account.

You don't, and can't.The ability to change ones profile picture went away when http://profiles.yahoo.com shut down in January of 2015. They've not introduced a new method to change your profile picture, and given the state of Yahoo, I have my doubts that the feature will ever return.
