However, for approval as a green product (where the customer is seeking green certification for his building), you need at least 80% recycled material, i.e. scrap On the other hand, certain customers prefer billets made entirely from sponge iron, as the quality of raw material is determinable, which is a requirement as per BIS norms for TMT
