How does Baba-nomics work in India?

• In India, we have seen a huge number of Babas coming into lime lite. How do they manage to get such a huge follower ship and the finances to manage their day-to-day chores and high quality life-style? An important thing to note here is - a) These Babas don't tell us anything new, b) They bind people in their clan by some diksha, which is nothing but some breathing practice (or something similar) and there is absolutely nothing new about it, c) They ask for donations for the institution they run (I find this nothing more than a Multi-Level-Marketing Scheme), or some monthly targets of the already enrolled members. Why am I against them? a) Why do they deserve to be treated equal to God? (people start mentioning them as Sri Sri, Gurudev, etc) Why? b) Their existing followers start 'over doing' their devotion in the person to an extent that people start to dis-believe whatever they do. (Having devotion in someone is fine, but behaving as if everyone else deserves to see and feel your devotion is an utter non-sense). c) Once a guru passes away, how do they choose the successor? In multiple cases so far, I have seen (or read) that these selections are very usual human processes which have some or the other bias involved in the process. (Some are via blood relations, some are via guru's choice, some are via voting, etc). d) Aren't all these institutions more person centric rather than organization centric? e) Why do they get access to speak on matters other than Spirituality or Yoga? e.g. Why do people welcome their political views? The Cases to be taken into consideration are - Art Of Living (Sri Sri Ravi Shankar), Satya Sai Baba, Asaram Bapu, Safaldev ji Maharaj (of VihangamYoga) etc.
