How do you link photos to a question?

Is it legal (by Facebook terms) to post other people's public Facebook photos on my own website by using a simple <img> tag?

  • I would like to post other people's public facebook photos on my own website, and I wanted to understand if it is allowed by facebook. I am not talking about public pages' photos, but simple users photos which are only marked as public. Technically it is simple to just link to a public facebook photo using an <img> tag, or even download the photo, without logging in to facebook. question is: is it legal by facebook's terms (I tried to look for it in the "terms of use" but did not find any exact answer about that).

  • Answer:

I think that it's unethical to so so

It's illegal. The photos are their property. Facebook has the transferable right to do that, so you may ask facebook for permission but I don't see that happening.
