What is a good email service to use?

What email client/service do you use to test the text version of emails?

  • I work on a web application that sends out emails when customers register. The emails are multi-part having both HTML and text version. While most email clients these days render HTML version by default, it is very easy to test that aspect. What I am finding difficult to test is how my text version is rendered. No email client I have used is able to render the text version of email. Some email clients (like outlook) render a slimmed down version of HTML when I choose to display text version. Is there any email client out there that would render the original text version that was sent with the email?

  • Answer:

Try http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/. If you select View->Message Body->Plain Text, it should render the original text.
