How to choose appropriate design pattern?

Which subject should  I choose between a: Computer Graphics and Pattern Recognition b: Artificial Intelligence and Compiler Design?

• I am in 5th semester now and pursuing B.Tech in Information Technology. I have to choose two of my subjects for the 6th semester. However I am confused about the choices. The first choice is between Computer Graphics & Pattern Recognition. The second is between Artificial Intelligence & Compiler Design. A detailed explanation about the subjects and their respective scopes will be helpful in choosing the subjects.

  First you have to chose in which subject do you have interest? If you like Robotics, then no doubt you should go for Pattern Recognition and Artificial Intelligence. Computer Graphics is a kind of subject that less effective in Information Technology and also hardly boost up your IT career. There are tons of people working on graphics now a days, it has money, but one semester study will not help you make it out. Now, about Compiler Designing, if you like Operating System then Compiler Designing is a subject for you. If I would be there in your place then I surely would have choose AI and PR, I found a hell lot of interest in Machine Learning, and these things are very interesting in practical applications. But yeah, they required strong mathematical concept like Linear Algebra, Probability theory etc. In case you don't find your math strong, then nothing to worry, I think these are so interesting that, you'll bound to learn required mathematics for them, so it won't be a problem.
