I've started several agencies -- There's only one thing you NEED to start, a client. Everything else you can figure out as you go. To start a digital marketing agency you need to be an expert in your field. Without this first hand working experience you will never be able to get off the ground because there is a set process for how a client deals with an agency regardless of the size of that agency or client. While the ethics of this is questionable, the truth is that the relationships you will build with your clients are ones that will last years if you are good at what you do.
