What exactly does an account manager do?

What type of questions should I expect in a telephonic interview for Google Technical Account Manager position?

  • Everywhere I am reading that all interview rounds at Google are no different from each other in terms of type of questions and the level of difficulty. Should I expect algorithm and DS questions on phone as well ? What sort of things should I prepare for the 1st telephonic round for Technical Account Manager position at Google ?

  • Answer:

If you go through the Job Profile of a Technology Account Manager, it is kind of self explanatory about what to expect from the interview. In view of Google's job posting at: http://www.google.com/about/jobs/locations/milan/client-facing/technical-sales/pds-technical-account-manager-milan.html I am not an expert here, but I think the skills you'd be tested for is always very visible from the job role & responsibilities. TAMs are needed to work with large data and with geographically dispersed clients. The main requirement here should be your ability to interact and handle situations with pressure. Technologically, you should be good with your basic understanding of programming, algorithms, time complexities, data structures, memory implications and writing memory efficient scripts etc. Last but not the least, be cool, calm and relaxed. You can take time to think, it is not a Rapid Fire. Also, it's OK to ask your interviewer questions, if you didn't understand something about the question. All The Best !
