What does the average LinkedIn profile look like?

  • I recently received an email from LinkedIn that said the following: Dan, congratulations! You have one of the top 10% most viewed LinkedIn profiles for 2012. LinkedIn now has 200 million members. Thanks for playing a unique part in our community! How can this be true? I only have 200 or so connections and log onto LinkedIn roughly 1-5 times a year. I reject most connections unless I know the person personally. How can my profile be so popular? My friends and I think this just means that no one actually uses LinkedIn.     Your connections have little to do with how often your profile is viewed.  Recruiters search for profiles displaying specific skills, and if your skills are in demand, your profile will be viewed a lot.
