Should I apply for two positions in same company?
-
I've applied for one position of a company a month ago. I saw another attractive opening of the company today. Should I apply for it today?

Answer:
Start with one. If there is more than one: The best fit. If a recruiter contacts you, ask their opinion about the differences between the two openings as a way the start the conversation about your interest in both. But if a recruiter does not contact you and an even better fit materializes, sure, apply again. But not again and again and again. During my last job search, the company that successfully recruited me had three possible positions open that they contacted me about. They were happy to talk about all of them and consider me for any, though in the end it was clear where the best fit was.

Yes. It is unlikely every job application we make will eventuate in a job offer, or even a job interview. Therefore there is not harm in casting your net wider. The people in HR know that of the 1000's of CVs they receive, they only want to speak to x% of these candidates. Furthermore, a company may be so large that your dual applications are likely to go unnoticed. If questioned on this, simply explain you were attracted to both roles and wanted to try your luck by applying. Your actions should be seen as admirable rather than calculating. You are showing ambition and assertiveness by applying for more than one role. It's likely what your prospective new boss did to land their current position. The above all assumes no major conflicts of interest or sensitivity exist in your current and applied roles. For example, applying for one does not jeopardise your current and other post. Good luck.

Yes you can apply for multiple positions it doesnot matter till you get selected. If you get through an interview call relating to the 2nd job(considering you are selected from the 1st round for Job 1) only in such a case inform them. Not incase if you are rejected or your profile is on hold. This is to avoid double selection. Disclaimer: The above answer doesnot refer to any events or policies of my current http://employer.It is basis my study and observation.

I had the same situation as yours.I applied an opening two months ago, then one one month ago, then another two weeks, all from the same company.I received an email last week from the recruiter, said she wants to have a phone conversation, to figure out which position fits me most.I should say that it depends on the recruiter. Most Junior recruiters donât know how to source the right candidates, sometimes, they rejected good candidates by classic HR questions in the beginning, like the one I had from NetApp, the lady hung up the phone because I ranked my C++ skills, 6 out of 10 for a junior c++ developer position as a new grad.Interview is tricky thing, good luck !
