Why are there distant winds that seem far away, yet it is peaceful here?

Not sure where to start. I am in a relationship with a woman that will do anything for me and That I will do what ever I can for her. Yet I seem to stay distant. I am not sure why. I don't want to lose her. Why do I feel this why?

    You say she will do 'anything' for you and that you will do 'what ever I can' for her. Do you see the difference? It is not uncommon for one person to be more deeply dedicated than the other in a relationship, but the one who is less committed is the one in control.  Perhaps you want to keep your 'edge' by keeping some distance.  Understandable in view of your two failed marriages.
