What Is Torrent?

What is the future for torrent sites?

  • I have been using torrent sites from long time to download that favorite movies/musics/softwares. with the ban/restrictions on popular torrent sites like demonoid, TPB  what will the fate of similar torrent sites ?

  • Answer:

Torrent sites that traffic in copyrighted material are an endangered species; anything that's not private, small, invite-only, and tightly ratio-managed will disappear.  There's too much heat from the major publishing and licensing companies on this method of data transmission for anyone to run a torrent site providing these materials for very long. Most likely, some other technology will come along that will unseat BitTorrent as a popular method of file-sharing; we've seen this before, and we'll see it again.

My guess is that we will soon enough see a completely distributed P2P database that requires no central site. Its not rocket science. I also suspect we will see more and more offshore directory servers in countries with no or limited IP protection.
