Does it pay (literally) to have an honours degree?

How can I make money with a degree in finance?

• I've just completed my degree in Finance, not so well done though (Summa cum laude). Thats very average; banks want nothing but first class honours; thats the least of my cares though. Am well aware that I could make good cash with the degree ( with or without an MBA and professional course added on top). I just smell it like a sweet aroma in the air but I don't have a clue whats cooking. My 'Financial Risk Management' lecturer once talked about writing company risk profiles and that kind of shit for six figure sums; plus I have noticed something peculiar about the CPA body in our country through a look at their website. Apparently, it seems that many accountants are so willing to be recognized members of the body such that they pay huge fees that to me are unjustifiable given the low average income that accountants in my country get. I also noticed that association cuts out about a third of its members per year. Thats sounds like membership competition to me. It is like they are willing to be members for the benefit of something bigger than their regular accounting job. I just know that there 'things' that accountants and finance majors do in the sidelines that earns them good cash but I just don't know what. Thats what I need to know. EDIT: I don't care about country or region specific answers although you can give them. I just need general answers.

  plenty of people break into banking from non-targets with good GPAs...you aren't gonna get a 6 figure job out of school unless you're a genius or a really good sales person
