Postal & Shipping Services: What would be the best way to show appreciation for your mailman?

  • Whenever its particularly late or cold outside and I hear the mail drop into my mailbox, I think about doing something for the person that delivers my mail. I've never talked to them(there are multiple that handle the route I live on), so I have no idea what they would prefer. It was raining and dark one night last week, and I was considering bringing out a cup of hot chocolate to them. Would that be appropriate/appreciated? What other little things could I do, just to make their dreary route a little better? If you are/were a mail(wo)man, please tell about any meaningful sings of appreciation you received,a nd any of your experiences of interaction with appreciative customers.

How long are they at your home where you'd have time to muster up a hot beverage? Lol I love the idea of hot beverages or baked goods, but unfortunately, in this crazy world we live in, consuming stuff like that makes some people antsy. I would like to suggest you to keep some water outside your place. That is the more important than anything else. Sometimes they have to spend from their pocket and purchase water bottle. Salary of these peoples are not too much but they work more than expected.
