What would be a good topic to promote?

When you promote a question, is it more likely to be shown to people who follow *both* you and the topic?

  • And is the effect accentuated if the question has multiple topics and the person follows all those multiple topics too?

  • Answer:

    If someone is my follower that person will get to see it. If someone is following that certain topic, that person will also get to see it. If someone is following both me and that topic, then that person will also get to see it. The likelihood depends on the other posts/answers on his or her homepage. Too many posts before mine may result in that post being overlooked. If someone does not follow me or that topic, that person will probably not get to see it. However out of sheer luck and optimal browsing through Quora, that topic/post may just be seen.
