Which one should I choose genetic engineering or chemical engineering?

Which one I should choose Network engineering or software engineering?

  • I have the potential to become good in any field but I am fully confused which one to choose. I am not bothered about salary. Just to make my career path good. Please help me

  • Answer:

Which one excites you more? Which one stirs your passions? Can you see yourself in 5/10/20 years being as excited about the potential as you are right now?   That's the one you should pick.

Further to the wise advice of following what makes you excited; Many people believe that this is an either/or decision, and there is some truth to that: internet (network) engineering is a career full of lore and, like software, there is always something new to be learning - to be an expert in both is very rare. I'd offer that there is a third path, one not as often ventured, which can offer you a unique advantage in your career: understand both, or put more simply, write software for networking after having had a background in operations. This is the path I took and I've found it has been thoroughly rewarding. In my opinion, the most respected engineers in the networking industry are those with both operational knowledge and software development experience - they understand how the hardware works and also how the customers will use and manage it.

You should pursue what you really "like" and are comfortable doing it. If it is networking then go for it. If you force yourself to be a software engineer there are chances that you may not be very comfortable with it after few years and then you will repent the decision of not taking up networking. When you go for networking make sure you go with full force and passion, become a specialist. Don't leave any stone un turned to master the skills in this domain. That is what will matter at the end. All the best. Thanks Anand@http://thetomorrowbeckons.blogpsot.com

Software Engineer: creates pieces of code that runs inside a computer. They are the ones that gives a computer its life. Without a Software engineer, a computer would be like a man without soul. Network Engineer: He who configures the communication between two terminals when a network of them is involved. Without them, the internet wouldn't be possible.

All depends  upon your interest. If you are interested in networking then go for networking job but you should know that accenture's core business is not in networking domain but they are more into Software ,consulting and services . So you will have less exposure to pure networking domain. The kind of work you may get there will be kind of support and ticketing. So I would suggest to go for software project if you are not passionately lean towards Networking.

It depends on your interest. You should ask yourself if you're interested more in Networks or, in general, Softwares. I hope you already know the kind of work that you're going to do in both the profiles. If not, please talk to someone who has this experience. And, then, decide which one of the two will you be more interested in. In terms of compensation, the options are not very different. Do not bring this factor in the decision making process. Also, if you're interested in going for higher studies abroad, why not work as a Research Assistant in some premier institute?

Software engineering deals with coding with the help of programming languages like C++, Java, PhP, etc. to create softwares for various clients. Below points I would like to highlight as the major differences in general: 1. Networking jobs are mostly 24x7 support jobs wherein an engineer needs to support, monitor and troubleshoot on issue. Software (development) are fixed time jobs. 2. Networking generally never leads to working overtime as once your shift is over you can leave. In software, however, you may end up working overtime. 3. Networking can be lonely job as you are alone in the shift. Software jobs are mostly team-oriented as you work in groups and have more social life. 4. The package of networking jobs may begin at 1/3rd of that in software jobs. 5. Networking companies don't come for campus in colleges as often as software companies. 6. There are less people in networking engineers as compared to software so a networking engineers demand increases with experiences. 7. There are many networking people having a degree of Bcom, Bsc and BA, you don't need to be B.tech to get into this line. 8. Networking people often change companies with an average of 1.5 yrs / company as that is the only way package can increase. Software people on the other hand do stay for a little longer than that as they get promoted in 2 yrs and package increases. Hope that clarifies your answer :)

Software Engineer. If you are a fresher and you know nothing about the two, then you should choose Software Engineering. It will provide you better opportunity to shape your career. Network engineering is also good but it will seldom allow you to work in related fields or in management. Go with Software Engineering. You can learn both, but you should practice this. Hope it helps. All the best.

Thanks for asking. If you are good at networking concepts, start as a network engineer. If you really want to shift, learn the concepts of SE and then do it. And personally, network engineer is nothing "less".

Go for your favourite job.I mean your passion. If you are going for your passion, you can see your inferior complex getting vanished. Good Luck.
