What are the good ways to find bad links in the link profile?

Google ask you to remove or disavow the bad links from your link profile but the real question is how to find bad links in the link profile. I know that there are tools available like Link Risk and Link Detox but my personal experience plus Julie Joyce’s Post on SEL also discuss the same thing that the difference of result between these two tools is huge so you cannot completely relay on this! My question is simple how are you detecting bad links in your link profile?

Here a few good starting points... 1). Multiple keyword based anchor text links. 2). Site-wide links. 3). Links from country code top-level domains where you do not have a presence or do business.
