How do I get my Company's Facebook page to appear in Google Search results?

  • Hi - I've recently launched my brand's official Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/MotoMia). However, for some reason it is not appearing in Google's search results. The settings on the page all appear to be normal. Is there something obvious that I am missing?

    With the recent change by Google in their search algorithm, it is now ever so difficult to bring up your page ranking up on the Google search results. If you were asking the same thing about a custom designed website or a blog you created - well, there are a lot of things to it. Shortly, summarized as SEO. Since this is your Facebook page, there is only so much SEO you can do about it. So, we'll just discuss what we can do within the constraints. 1) From your question, I understand you recently started your Facebook page. Google's search bots goes through all of the Internet searching for indexes to new webpages, periodically. (This is called Crawling) But the period usually extents up to about 2 weeks. So, if it hasn't been at least 2 weeks since you started your page. I suggest you wait for a while. 2) As has suggested, publicize your page among friend circles (don't annoy them! ;) ). Updating your page with useful content regularly. Don't oversell your products to people. Remember, Social media about socializing, not selling. 3) Set an online advertising budget and make use of Facebook ads. There is just too much content on our newsfeeds. Without paid promotion, your content is MOST LIKELY to be lost in the clutter. Target and time your ads for maximum reach. 4) One of the main factors influencing Google ranking is cross links. Make your sure your Facebook URL is found at different webpages (Not just in Facebook). Publicize it. Try to get a write up about your company on a popular online daily. 5) Start a blog. Maybe you have heard this before. I can't stress enough on the importance of having a blog, especially for businesses. Produce good content and make your Facebook URL is found on the webpage.
