  • Answer:

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but a website at that domain is likely never going to rank highly for many reasons. 1. The domain looks spammy. Does having "mymy" in the URL look remotely credible? They need a new domain -- preferable one that does not include too many keywords after Google's Exact-Match Domain (EMD) update: http://searchengineland.com/library/google/emd-update Think of a new URL that sounds catchy and like a good brand and includes "travel" (which, I presume, is the topic). Like, I don't know, Travel Experts or Travelocity or something. (I'm sure those exist -- it's just to demonstrate the point.) 2. All of your off-page SEO techniques no longer work -- and could work against you if Google thinks you are spamming. Article websites, bad. Directory submission, usually bad unless it's a QUALITY directory edited by an expert human in your niche -- and that's like 0.000001% of directories out there. Forum posting, spam. Blog commenting, spam. Online press releases, sometimes good as long as you don't do it too much. 3. The idea that you need to understand is that it is necessary now to "earn" links -- not build them. Your website needs to answer the question, "Why should I link to you?" The answer is to create outstanding content on a first-class website and then promote the content in a good way through public relations and social media so that people want to link to it on their own sites and in social-media networks. It's not easy, but such links are the best ones -- and perhaps the only good ones now. Here's a comprehensive essay I wrote on the idea (and a plus if you happen to be a fan of "The Avengers"): http://www.samueljscott.com/2012/12/24/new-seo-lessons-avengers/ 4. If you or the client know anything about inbound marketing, then the metric of success should be conversions, not just rankings and traffic. Say the website has a call to action to fill out a form, then you want to use analytics to track the number of people who fill out the form. What's the point if you send 50,000 visitors but only 10 fill out the form? Plus, you can optimize for clicks in the SERPs and not just rankings. Say a page has a ranking of 5. If you add rich snippets like author photos, price information, and such, then the additional elements will draw eyes and clicks from whatever is ranking 2. Another essay I wrote: http://www.myseosoftware.com/schema-code-optimizing-clicks-not-rankings/ I know this is a lot to take in, but I hope it helps!
