What are some of the best free resources for Web development?

What are the best resources for finding a junior web development or web administration job in San Diego?

  • Answer:

Craigslist->Internet Engineering Craigslist->Software Development Craigslist->Web Design Indeed->"PHP", "Web Developer", "C#" Monster->(same as above) CyberCoders->(same as above) Put those keywords in "skills", not "job title" (where applicable), because then you search the entire posting, not just the title. I'm in Orange County, but I've gotten jobs from these. Craigslist you tend to get a little more down-to-earth companies, Indeed you tend to get more uppity/professional companies, and Monster is a mix. I prefer Craigslist for the types of people I like being around. CyberCoders are recruiters, but sometimes they have some good catches. If you have 0 years experience, also check the Craigslist->Gigs->Computer Gigs section. Listings there are free, so you'll get some small shops offering internships or super-cheap labor requests ($12-15/hr.). I got my first part-time learning position from an experienced developer who posted in this section, and later he became a good friend and colleague. Afterwards I got my first full-time position (again through Craigslist) for a full-time position at a much higher rate. From there you've got the experience, and everyone wants you. Good luck!
