Books or tutorials to learn MVC in PHP for a beginner?

  • I consider myself an advanced-beginner in php. I've developed a few applications and I feel more comfortable taking on a framework. Here's what I'm hoping a someone can help me; I'm looking for: 1. Content that teaches the MVC pattern with examples 2. Use of any framework is fine as long as its easy to use and understand 3. Preferably a book or tutorial series (paid is fine) as long as its not outdated Thanks!

Go for laravel (and learn it at http://laracasts.com). It'll grow some hair on your nutsack for sure.

CodeIgniter does an excellent job at teaching mvc. It's good to learn from but after you learn the basics you prolly want to move to laravel, Zend or symfony for any production sites. They are more up to date than CI Laravel also has great docs and the laracasts video series will be a worthwhile investment. You could just start there
