Which website is the best service for customers?

If you want to charge the customers for using a service provided by your website by online transaction, do we need to get any legal permission from government?

  • I am planning to start a website which render service to the customer for which they will have to pay me by using their credit card or similar online transaction method. Similar as collecting money from the premier user. Do i need to get any legal consciences from the government or do i need to register my business with some government authority for adding online transaction in the website? I am from India.

  • Answer:

You do not need to get direct permission from Govt. of India. All you need is a merchant account with payment processing companies like PayPal, CCAvenue, http://EBS.in, PayU or some other merchant. You will need to have account in Indian Bank and you must have PAN (Permanent Account No., Issued by Dept. of Income Tax, Govt. of India) If the payment processor is an Indian company, they will require many documents like your company incorporation certificate, PAN, bank A/c statement, Income Tax returns, Identification document of company promoters (Directors), address proof etc. However if you decide to go with PayPal or 2Checkout, they have minimum document requirements but you need to quote your PAN and the purpose for which the funds are being transferred to your Indian bank A/c.
