How do I create a landing page for my website?

What are some easy and free ways to create a video for the landing page of a website?

  • Its a travel domain website and is in the MVP stage (minimum viable product) and we do not have budget to hire a professional. I have worked on iMovie and Photoshop before and can do the basic to intermediary tasks.

    We recently created our own 90 second explainer using Powtoons and then embedded the video into our Launchrock page.  Both tools are startup friendly in that they are useful, easy and come at a price you can't beat (read free).  As a bonus, you can also upload the video to Youtube.

If an explainer video is what you're looking for then a good script can easily be complimented with simple icons to effectively describe your company's core functions and services. I've been using PowToons for a while now and love it. My business wouldn't be nearly as well formed as it is were it not for this fantastic animation engine. Maybe try Fiverr http://Fiverr.com for the voice over part and for help with some of the graphics, then do the rest on iMovie.  Also, try a site like Audiojungle http://Audiojungle.com for affordable music.  All of this should cost you less than $50 (although a good bit of your time too if you're going to do something semi-polished).
