Data Recovery: How would you recover a .txt file from a lost HFS+ (Mac) partition?
-
All the software that I have found on the internet seems to recover special files like .doc .rtf .mp4 that have some special header information or something like that, but no plain-text files. My power went off all of a sudden and now my Mac won't boot and the partition is showing up as RAW, although it is still marked ShagOS Swap (af). I need to get one txt file that i had taken lots of notes (over 5k entries) in, most of the others are replaceable. I tried doing partition recovery, but its of no use because the partition is already there but it somehow got corrupted. Please help directly or refer this to someone else you know.

Have you tried Disk Drill? It has free edition and supports HFS/HFS+/FAT/NTFS file system recovery. But if the free version does not work, you have to get the Pro version. Mention shareware, another recovery software for Mac must be illustrated. That's Data Rescue 3. It is outstanding and can recover files from HFS and HFS+ (âMac OS Extendedâ) formatted partitions.
